Catherine hoped to establish a secret alliance with this nefarious organization, known for its ruthless ambition to expand land masses across the globe, often through dubious means. However, Jasmine's mission took a dark turn when Team Magma revealed their true intentions. They ambushed Jasmine and captured her, subjecting her to inhumane treatment by strapping her to a machine designed to extract a precious resource from her body: her breast milk.
Due to her unique physiology as a Darkrai-morph, Jasmine's milk possessed exceptional nutritional qualities. Team Magma believed that by utilizing her milk, they could significantly enhance the abilities of their dark-type Pokémon, particularly the Poochyena residing in their base's cub nursery.
Fortunately, Jasmine's ordeal was not destined to last. Sensing that something was amiss, Catherine launched a daring rescue mission to free her ally. Driven by her deep appreciation for dark-type Pokémon and her desire to enrich her mercenary group, Catherine infiltrated the Team Magma base, cleverly hidden just outside Petalburg City. With swift precision, she freed Jasmine from her captors.
In addition to rescuing her friend, Catherine seized the opportunity to sabotage Team Magma's operations. With fierce determination and a flair for destruction, she blew up the base, effectively dismantling it and claiming all the Poochyena for herself. Catherine planned to oversee their growth on her Pokémon ranch, giving them the care and attention they deserved.
After the chaos, Catherine turned to Jasmine, asking if she could help raise the Poochyena and perhaps even nourish them with her special milk. Jasmine, however, had reached her limit after the day's harrowing events and immediately responded with a firm, "No!" having had more than enough of Poochyena for one day.
