Forcing myself all these years to never blend colors was now as I see it, a mistake, however I still think there is value to painting cel shading as an exercise or as a step in the process.
Never blending the colors forces you to think exactly the borders of where a certain light source reaches and where shadow takes over, instead of lazily paiting gradients.
But blending adds free realism, texture, and quality I was missing out on till now.
