Kaytu is a big boy who towers over most of my cast and can push them around with relative ease, but there's one among them who's still got the size and strength to bully him- and it's only made all the easier when BFCT has strapped him to a breeding mount for easy access!

It's the monthly patreon funded painting for June! This month, the winning prompt: "Red Dragon mounting a struggling, bound, and muzzled Kaytu, who has been offered up by a watching, smug, BFCT"
I decided to make the executive decision to kind of ignore the struggling part, not super in the mood for that kind of thing, wanted everyone to be having a good (if rough) time. I think the main point is 'dragon takes kaytu to pound town' and I think we've got that in spades. Why are they in a dungeon then? 'Cause it's hot! Dungeon fantasy is good. :D
These monthly paintings have often been a vehicle I've used for experimentation, and this month is no exception. I wanted once again to mess around creating 2D using my 3D skills as a jumping off point, but I tried something a smidge different from past attempts, or at least, past paintings. It's actually a pretty similar technique to what I used in this comic, where I render in 3D and ink/paint overtop the render to make it more appealing, only with the comic speed was the name of the game. I wanted a style where I could quickly smash out large number of images, so things are very simple. For this picture I wanted to at least try to make it look nice, so I put a lot more time into the painting, manually overpainting just about everything. Almost no pixel is left untouched.
The goal wasn't really to hide the 3D, it was more just to make it look nice. As nice as I'm able, anyway. I think I'd need more practice to really nail down the effect, but I think it has some potential...

Oh, and if you're curious about how much work goes into something like this, I'd say it was nearing the 20 hour mark- it's honestly not that much of a time saver, it's mostly a brain saver. As someone who really struggles with the drawing part of drawing, offloading the stress and difficulty of that part off to the computer so I can focus on other stuff can definitely make the whole process a lot more enjoyable. Instead of struggling with anatomy and consistency and stuff I can just find some sexy poses and fun lighting and get to work.
