The Syndicate had many definitions, depending on who you asked. Some called it a "global criminal organization"; others would call it a megacorp that played really loose with the law, and those unfortunate enough to live in a corporate-controlled city would know it as a de facto government that cared little for its subjects.
Among the things the Syndicate was famous for was the unwavering loyalty of its members, officially chalked up to "employee benefits." Its members would often enjoy the company of many wonderful pleasure servants, who were always enthusiastic to relieve stress and melt away the worries of the Syndicate's valued employees. With perfectly sculpted bodies, genetically and cybernetically enhanced to be perfect for their job, these servants could be found "raising morale" in the backrooms of corporate buildings, secret warehouses, and the executive penthouses alike. Their abundance, loyalty, and dedication seemed almost unexplainable, unless you knew a certain dark secret...
The recruitment process for the Syndicate's pleasure servants was nothing if not unorthodox. Unbeknownst to most, their ranks consisted almost entirely of the Syndicate's greatest enemies - the most effective and capable operatives of hostile organizations dedicated to weakening the Syndicate's grasp over the world. Some would be captured during their missions, others caught unaware in the streets or even taken from their homes. The one thing that they all shared was being on "the List" - a ranked board of all the people posing a threat to Syndicate's operations. The higher the place on the list - the more desirable a target.
Bound tightly to surgical chairs, stripped of their names and belongings, these brave souls would undergo the recruitment process. Their bodies would be transformed through nanotechnology and engineered hormones, designed to deliver the most desirable product. Regions of skin and muscle would be converted into erogenous zones, capable of creating pleasure orders of magnitude more powerful than an ordinary person could experience (or even withstand while keeping their sanity).
Naturally, this process was very damaging to the future employees' psyche, but it was by design - it had to be weakened before their mental conditioning could begin. After all, it's much easier to strip away the personality and memories from someone who can barely recognize themselves, writhing and screaming in immeasurable pleasure.
